The exhibition at Jelení Gallery shows photographs as a way of documenting working and leisure time, wiping the dust off from forgotten professional dreams of youth in a dialogue between the artist Isabela Grosseová and members of the Elpida Association’s CVAK! Photo Club for Senior Citizens.
Three different working titles for the workshop and exhibition provide a hint of the process to which a group of seniors from a photography club have been devoting their attention since March 2018. All of the indicated themes are interwoven with their own experiences with working life and observing the relationship they have with what is now a completed phase of their personal past.
Is it possible to reconstruct one’s relationship with their job through family photo albums in which there may be some occassional shots from the work environment? Or can we capture our dreams and plans about what we originally wanted to be and look back at them from the perspective of the experience we have today? Is it possible to describe the thought processes we go through when we see our children leave each morning to go to their current jobs? How can this all be captured using the photographic medium, which is what a group of seniors chose as a long-term interest and means of expression? The exhibition is the result of a dialogue between the artist Isabela Grosseová and members of the Elpida Association’s CVAK! Photo Club for Senior Citizens.
