This event is a three-day journey, inspired by Werner Herzog’s pilgrimage from Munich to Paris in the winter of 1976. Herzog undertook this demanding solo journey on foot to save the life of the film critic Lotte H. Eisner, who was said to be on her deathbed. He followed this symbolic act with a second walk, this time a march around Germany to save the country, but he never finished it. We will walk around our capital city, tracing a circle with a circumference of about 100 kilometres. This act is not meant as a symbolic way of saving Prague or its inhabitants, but rather to rescue what lies beyond the city. We want to map the outer areas, which face insensitive encroachments of urban planning into the suburban landscape. Our symbolic circle will define the borders of the senseless taking over of land and the devastation of the landscape.

Note: You may join us at any point, walk with us for as long as you want, and leave at any time. We are not reserving nighttime accommodation and will be sleeping under the open sky. We recommend that you wear appropriate footwear – or that you at least take along plasters for blisters. Everyone participating in the march is doing so as an individual, and thus responsible only for themselves.
